Added a new outputter: XML
3rd Aug 2009
I have added another outputter, the first non-database outputter, an XML outputter. This should allow you to load Pelzini data into anything you could imagine!
There will be a snapshot of it at some point soon.
Internationalisation complete
25th June 2009
Internationalisation is now complete. I am now looking for translators.
New tools introduced
5th May 2009
I have just added a few more tools to the Pelzini website which will hopefully aid development. I have added an idea tracker, bug tracker and patch tracker. I have also added a mailing list which I will be posting to regularly with updates, etc. You might need a Sourceforge account to use these tools, but I'm not sure.
- Mailing lists
- docu-development@lists.sourceforge.net - used for all discussions about development
- Development tools
- Development ideas - ideas for future versions of Pelzini
- Bug tracker - bugs and problems with Pelzini
- Patch tracker - submit code patches
I am hoping that these new tools will be used well and to their full capability.
Pelzini 0.2 Released!
30th April 2009
I am very proud to release version 0.2 of Pelzini. Pelzini has been through a lot recently, and its all very exciting. Its interesting to see how a release changes over time. Things you expect to see in a release never get in, and other features do. I guess thats how coding goes.
This release has a ton of new features, which is very exciting.
Major changes include: Added JavaScript support; Added C support; Improved search; Added advanced search support; Changed the name from Docu to Pelzini; Improved the look and usage of the viewer; Added the @see and @link javadoc tags; Added inline tag support; Added support for javadoc tag cascading.
There is a heap of other stuff too, and I have probably forgotten some stuff because it has been such a long time.
Now work is going to begin on 0.3. I am finally going to get the installer to properly support PostgreSQL and SQLite. I am going to complete C language support. I want to add a few more javadoc tags, notably tags like @changelog, which is better that what people currently do, and that is to tack changelog info onto @author. I would like to add i18n support, and I want to support a multiple-database viewer (more to come later...)
Of course all of this takes development time, and so I am asking if there is anyone out there who would like to contribute to Pelzini, to please do so. I have had a few patches and suggestions come through in the past, and it would be great to see more of that. I would like to give commit access to someone else, if anyone is interested in helping, please email me at thejosh1234 AT users DOT sourceforge DOT net.
Anyway, with all that, let the good times roll, and enjoy 0.2!
New name
2nd April 2009
Docu is now Pelzini. Cooler name, less fighting for top spot in google. Related to an animal, like all good open source projects.
Looking for another dev
1st February 2009
I would like another developer if anyone want so help, it would be greatly appreciated. Email me. thejosh1234@users.sourceforge.net
Active development has resumed, snapshot released
15th January 2009
I have been working on docu again for the last few days, and to prove it, I released another snapshot today. Its not revolutionary, and only a few commits, but that shouldn't matter. I have fixed a few more bugs, so that's good.
I'm going to do another release soon, probably 0.1.2. Hopefully I can release 0.2 sometime in the next month or two, but lets see.
As always, bugs, suggestions and patches are welcome.
Christmas - going on a break
23rd December 2008
So with Christmas coming right on up, the time has come to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ! This is also a time that I will be going on holidays, to Port Hughes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_Hughes)
During this time (until around the 12th Jan), I will be not doing any work on docu. I was hoping to have 0.2 out before then, but it just never happened. I am going to release another snapshot later this afternoon, so there is at least something there that people can download.
Now I am expecting lots of good things while I am away. Please send me plenty of emails, my email address is thejosh1234@users.sourceforge.net
I also want to see lots of contributing on the wiki. The wiki has been a bit quiet, and it would be good if that was to change. This is a community project, so it needs the support of the community.
When I get back, I am going to finish the outstanding issues for 0.2, and then release. I need to fix SQLite support, improve the installer, and test Javascript support madly. As usual, all provided help will be accepted.
Javascript support!
11th December 2008
Javascript is now partially supported in docu. There is some code for javascript in the processor, but it is still a bit buggy and quite incomplete. It can currently only see functions, not even the function parameters or anything else cool like that. As a side note, I am going to release a snapshot today. I forgot to do one last week - sorry.
Docu 0.1.1 released!
2nd December 2008
So we have Christmas coming up so I thought it was time for an early Christmas present to celebrate the coming of my lord Jesus Christ. Here it is - version 0.1.1, with PostgreSQL support, and to top it off, SQLite support as well. Currently these are both a bit experimental, so they are not available in the installer yet. This version adds more Javadoc tags, I think @table is the only one. It also adds Tag cascading, and a report of what items are missing documentation.
Another snapshot
20th November 2008
I have released another snapshot today - and its early! This snapshot includes PostgreSQL support. It was in the last one, but now it works really well. Its still not in the installer... This snap also has tag cascading - currently its for @author and @since by default. I have also added the @table tag. There has also been some bugs fixed, etc.
PostgreSQL is now supported
14th November 2008
As of today, PostgreSQL is now supported in the trunk version of docu. To make the news even more exciting, there was also a snapshot released today. You download revision 105 from sourceforge. There are still some bugs that need fixing but it is generally working.
This feature is because I would like to make it very clear that docu is all about supporting multiple outputters and multiple programming languages.
Docu 0.1 has been released!
7th November 2008
Docu 0.1 has been released!
You can get it here: https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=239717&package_id=291546
Latest snapshot
27th October 2008
There is now a new snapshot available. Ill try to do these weekly or so. This one now has an automated tool for creating/updating your database structure. See installation for more info. You are greatly encouraged to provide feedback on this wiki, or to submit bugs, suggestions and patches.
Source Snapshots now available
17th October 2008
The source code snapshots are now available. You can download the snapshots from sourceforge. They are currently only made manually, and will be released every few weeks. They may become automatic at some point. The snapshots include the .svn directories, allowing svn updates, etc.
Sourceforge application granted
Sourceforge has given us hosting for docu. Very cool
